Green Hell Weapons Guide (2024)

A rundown of all available weapons in Green Hell

Weapons play a huge role in day-to-day survival and advancement in Green Hell. When you’re stranded somewhere like the Amazon jungle, a lot of your survival potential will come from what kinds of tools you have and what tools you can make on your own. If you want to stay alive, learning to craft, locate, and use these weapons and tools should be at the forefront of your mind.

This guide will outline each weapon and tool in Green Hell, including how to craft them or where they can be found and some suggestions on how to best use them.

Stone Blade

  • Weapon Class: Blades
  • Range: Short
  • Damage: Very Low
  • Attack Speed: Fast
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Harvesting Animals
  • Crafting Components: 2 Stones

A simple, crude tool made by sharpening one rock with another. This bladed tool is weak, short-range, and an extremely poor choice for both combat and woodcutting. That said, if you have nothing else and need a knife right now, these are pretty easy to make.

Stick Blade

  • Weapon Class: Blades
  • Range: Short
  • Damage: Very Low
  • Attack Speed: Fast
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Harvesting Animals
  • Crafting Components: 2 Small Sticks, 1 Stone, 1 Rope

A weak, flimsy tool occasionally dropped by Waruha Warriors. The stick blade utilizes a sharpened rock pinched between two sticks as a blade. This blade shares all the same stats as the Stone Blade but is less durable, meaning the only real reason to make it is to conserve stone.

Bone Knife

  • Weapon Class: Blades
  • Range: Short
  • Damage: Very Low
  • Attack Speed: Fast
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Harvesting Animals
  • Crafting Components: 1 Bone, 1 Rope

A basic knife sharpened from a single piece of bone. Though not as sturdy as a Stone Blade, this weapon deals a bit more damage and isn’t as heavy. Its low damage and short range are somewhat balanced by its rapid attack speed and utility as a knife.

Obsidian Blade

  • Weapon Class: Blades
  • Range: Short
  • Damage: Low
  • Attack Speed: Fast
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Harvesting Animals
  • Crafting Components: 1 Obsidian Stone, 1 Stone, 1 Rope

A razor-sharp piece of obsidian carefully shaped into a dangerous knife. Though still risky to use in combat due to its short range, this blade offers much more damage than stone or bone knives and maintains its lightning-fast attacks.

Obsidian Bone Blade

  • Weapon Class: Blades
  • Range: Short
  • Damage: Low
  • Attack Speed: Fast
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Harvesting Animals
  • Crafting Components: Cannot be Crafted (Dropped by Waruha Warriors and Waruha Hunters)

Another obsidian-type blade with a more sophisticated design utilizing a bone handle. This weapon cannot be crafted and must be obtained from Waruha tribespeople. Statistically, this weapon is exactly the same as the Obsidian Blade with the exception that it weighs more.

  • Weapon Class: Blades
  • Range: Short
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Fast
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Harvesting Animals
  • Crafting Components: 1 Metal Blade Cast, 1 Rope

Easily the strongest knife in the game, this sturdy weapon is forged from iron and sharpened to a smooth edge. This tool outclasses all other blades in terms of damage, durability, and utility, though it can be costly to forge your own blades.

Rusty Machete

Green Hell Weapons Guide (7)
  • Weapon Class: Blades
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: Cannot be Crafted (randomly found at various points of interest)

Though technically a blade, the Rusty Machete is a mid-tier weapon that functions more like an axe. These tools have been weakened by long-term exposure to the elements and have lost their edge. Probably better used to slash underbrush and trees, these rusty weapons can also be used to decent effect in combat. They can’t be used to butcher carcasses, though.

Stone Axe

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Very Low
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, 1 Stone

The Stone Axe is a basic tool made by jamming a jagged rock into a stick. Though better than nothing, this axe is weak, crude, and won’t last long. If you need a quick tool to cut wood with, then this will do the trick. Just don’t expect too much else out of it.

Axe

Green Hell Weapons Guide (9)
  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Low
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, Rope, 2 Stones

This tool is a more durable, but still quite primitive, woodcutting tool. It’s more sophisticated and can cut trees faster and lasts longer before breaking. It’s a solid and easily craftable tool you’ll likely be using a lot. That does not mean, however, that it will be of any real use in combat.

Bone Axe

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Low
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, 2 Bones, 1 Rope

An unusual tool that utilizes several sharpened bones for cutting wood and puncturing opponents. One of the first axes the player can make that aren’t terrible for combat, this weapon deals moderate damage and makes for a pretty decent throwing weapon, though it is quite flimsy.

Blade Axe

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, 3 Stone Blades

Designed for primitive combat, this vicious weapon is crafted from 3 stone knives stuck into a wooden handle. It’s functional, though flimsy, as a woodcutting tool but is much more useful for close combat. Additionally, the ease with which these weapons can be crafted makes them great for use as throwing implements at mid-range.

Obsidian Axe

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, 1 Obsidian Stone, 1 Rope

This razor-sharp hatchet is identical to the standard Axe, except its blade is black in color. Made from a sharper, rarer stone, this version of the basic tool deals more damage and is much more durable than most other axes but is still outclassed by longer-reaching weapons of the same tier.

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: High
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, 1 Metal Axe Cast, 1 Rope

A top-tier axe made from a sharpened and forged metal axe head, this weapon is one of the most effective woodcutting tools in the game, sporting great damage and high durability. Though its reach is a bit short, this tool can also be used to deal some serious damage in combat and works perfectly well for protecting yourself from wildlife.

Rusty Axe

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: Cannot be Crafted (randomly found at various points of interest)

A solid, all-around hatchet left behind by previous visitors to the jungle. This weapon can’t be crafted and instead has a chance of spawning at a few different points of interest. Though this axe is pretty useful for wood cutting and combat, it can’t be replaced after it breaks unless you get lucky and find another, so use it wisely.

Aztec Weapon

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Very High
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Demolishing Structures
  • Crafting Components: 1 Plank, 1 Rope, 2 Obsidian Stones

Essentially a handmade replica of a historical Macuahuitl, this powerful melee weapon is formed from a carved wooden club embedded with razor-sharp obsidian shards. The Aztec Weapon is a bit expensive to craft, but in combat it stands out as one of the best melee weapons in the game, offering a bit more range and damage than any other axe while maintaining the standard attack speed.

Stone Pickaxe

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Low
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Mining Iron Ore
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, 1 Rope, 1 Stone Blade

A clever but crude tool, this makeshift pickaxe is one of the only two tools in Green Hell capable of mining iron ore deposits found in caves. Though capable of being used for the same activities as proper axes, this tool is less effective at woodcutting and a pretty poor choice for combat as well. That said, iron is one of the most valuable resources, and this tool can help you get it.

Read on to learn more about the Stone Pickaxe.

  • Weapon Class: Axes
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Cutting Wood, Mining Iron Ore
  • Crafting Components: 1 Stick, 1 Rope, 1 Metal Blade Cast

A sturdier and more refined mining implement, the metal pickaxe is one of the only two tools in Green Hell capable of mining iron ore deposits found in caves. It might not be the best use of resources to forge this tool since you probably won’t be doing a ton of mining. It is a much more versatile tool than the stone variant.

Weak Spear

Green Hell Weapons Guide (18)
  • Weapon Class: Spears
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Low
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Spearfishing, Hunting
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick or 1 Long Bamboo Stick

Made from nothing more than a long wooden or bamboo branch with a sharpened end, weak spears are (unsurprisingly) pretty weak overall. They are, however, extremely easy to craft, which not only makes them perfect early-game and emergency melee weapons but also means they can be thrown as ranged weapons without having to worry about losing them in the underbrush.

Four-Pronged Spear

  • Weapon Class: Spears
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Very Low
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Spearfishing
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick or 1 Long Bamboo Stick, 1 Rope, 2 Small Sticks

An unusual but highly effective spear specialized for spearfishing. Though this type of spear deals significantly less damage than other weapons, it does have a wider hitbox due to its forked ends. This makes it unmatched at hitting small targets like fish but very bad for just about everything else.

Stone Spear

  • Weapon Class: Spears
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Spearfishing, Hunting
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick, 1 Rope, 1 Stone Blade

A sturdier, more refined spear better suited for extended combat engagements and dealing with wildlife. In addition to its decent stats, this spear also boasts the longest-reaching melee in the game, making it ideal for keeping enemies at a distance and striking without putting yourself in danger.

Read on to learn more about the Stone Spear.

Bone Spear

  • Weapon Class: Spears
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Spearfishing, Hunting
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick, 1 Rope, 1 Bone

This spear variant is crafted with a sharpened bone tied to the end for use as a point. The Bone Spear deals more damage than the Stone Spear and is tied with the Metal Spear for the second-longest melee attack. However, it is neither as sturdy nor as long-reaching as the stone variant.

Obsidian Spear

  • Weapon Class: Spears
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: High
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Spearfishing, Hunting
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick, 1 Rope, 1 Obsidian Stone

The Obsidian Spear sports a jagged shard of obsidian tied to its end. Wickedly sharp and relatively sturdy, this weapon is excellent for combat and hunting and would be one of the strongest, if not for one major drawback. That drawback is its range, which is the shortest of any spear and is just a bit longer than that of an axe or two-handed weapon.

  • Weapon Class: Spears
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Very High
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Spearfishing, Hunting
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick, 1 Rope, 1 Metal Blade Cast

The Metal Spear is easily the deadliest melee weapon in the game. In addition to its remarkably high damage value, this weapon has an excellent reach to its melee attacks and can be accurately thrown for use at range. A couple of solid hits from this spear will kill pretty much anything foolish enough to threaten its wielder here in the jungle.

Tribal Spear

  • Weapon Class: Spears
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Medium
  • Attack Speed: Medium
  • Additional Uses: Spearfishing, Hunting
  • Crafting Components: Cannot be Crafted (dropped by Waruha Spearmen)

The Tribal Spear is the Waruha standard for mid-range weaponry. Formed from a single, polished piece of wood and decorated with colorful feathers, this weapon is as much for show as it is for combat. Tribal Spears deal slightly more damage than bone or stone spears but don’t reach quite as far.

Heavy Stone Axe

  • Weapon Class: Two-Handed Weapons
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: High
  • Attack Speed: Slow
  • Additional Uses: Woodcutting
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick, 1 Rope, 1 Big Stone

Take the standard concept for a stone axe and make it bigger and heavier. The Heavy Stone Axe is a two-handed weapon made from a big, sharpened rock embedded in a branch. Though it deals a pretty sizable amount of damage, the slow attack speed and high stamina cost of this weapon can still make it risky to use in combat, though it is pretty fun to chop down trees with.

Tribal Axe

  • Weapon Class: Two-Handed Weapons
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Very High
  • Attack Speed: Slow
  • Additional Uses: Woodcutting
  • Crafting Components: Cannot be Crafted (dropped by Waruha Thugs)

This large stone axe is apparently the Waruha take on woodcutting tool construction. Made with a polished handle and a well-shaped stone, this weapon is excellent for players who prefer heavier weapons and can kill many enemies in just one or two hits. Waruha Thugs will dual-wield these massive axes to devastating effect, so be extremely careful how you go about getting your hands on one.

Modern Axe

  • Weapon Class: Two-Handed Weapons
  • Range: Medium
  • Damage: Very High
  • Attack Speed: Slow
  • Additional Uses: Woodcutting
  • Crafting Components: Cannot be Crafted (randomly found only at the Airport)

The Modern Axe is a proper metal axe left behind to rust in the jungle. This is the most powerful two-handed weapon and arguably one of the best woodcutting axes in the game. Unfortunately, it can only be found at the Airport in the Anaconda Island region, and even then, it only has a random chance to spawn. Once all the axes from that location break, this tool is gone for good.

Bow

  • Weapon Class: Archery
  • Range: Ranged
  • Damage: Variable
  • Attack Speed: Variable
  • Additional Uses: Hunting, Bowfishing
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Stick or 1 Long Bamboo Stick, 1 Rope

The Bow and Bamboo Bow are simple ranged weapons made by stretching a length of vine rope between two ends of the same stick. Bows are ranged weapons that rely on the player’s skill not only for their damage but also for their draw and aiming speed. The amount of damage these weapons deal varies by what kinds of arrows are being fired.

Tribal Bow

  • Weapon Class: Archery
  • Range: Ranged
  • Damage: Variable
  • Attack Speed: Variable
  • Additional Uses: Hunting, Bowfishing
  • Crafting Components: Cannot be Crafted (dropped by Waruha Hunters)

A polished, refined wooden bow crafted by members of the Waruha Tribe. You can’t make one of these bows on your own, so if you find one, hold onto it. Not only does this bow variant typically last longer than player-made bows, but they’re also slightly more accurate and deal a bit more damage.

Bamboo Blowpipe

  • Weapon Class: Blowguns
  • Range: Ranged
  • Damage: Variable
  • Attack Speed: Slow
  • Additional Uses: Animal Capture
  • Crafting Components: 1 Long Bamboo Stick, 2 Ropes

A unique ranged weapon capable of firing poisoned darts using the wielders’ breath as propulsion. These darts don’t do any damage on their own, instead relying on the potent toxins of a Poison Dart Frog to paralyze or incapacitate targets. This weapon can be used to hunt predatory animals or to capture herbivores for animal husbandry. Waruha tribespeople are immune to these poisons, however, making this weapon useless against human foes.

Adapt and overcome

The Amazon jungle is an extremely dangerous and difficult location to survive in real life. The green hell, designed by Creepy Jar, is meant to be just as inhospitable and perhaps a tad more hostile than the real thing, leaving the player to fend off vicious jaguars, aggressive caimans, and territorial tribesmen.

Players who want to survive all of that will need to master the weapons available to them and adapt to their situation at every turn. Think you’ve got what it takes? Then snag a few of these weapons and try your luck against the harsh world of Green Hell.
